Halva Fudge

This fudge has that special flavour combination of sweet and sesame with a hint of vanilla.

Vegan Richa’s Chocolate Almond Butter Fudge Bars recipe is perfect and I make it a lot. This halva fudge is inspired by her recipe.

It’s not too sweet, so add more maple syrup for a closer resemblance to real halva. It’s very smooth and creamy, though.

INGREDIENTS

100g coconut butter (coconut manna)
60g hulled tahini (the light coloured sesame seed butter)
50g cacao butter
3 tbsp maple syrup
1/4 tsp vanilla extract (or vanilla powder)

INSTRUCTIONS

In a saucepan over a very gentle heat, slowly melt the coconut butter, tahini and cacao butter until combined and completely melted. Don’t let it bubble.

Add the maple syrup and vanilla, and mix it well.

Pour into a wax paper lined tin and let it set in the fridge. Cut into small squares when it’s cooled and set.
