Mushrooms, Tomatoes and Hemp Seeds on Sourdough Toast

This breakfast is illegal in Australia. But it’s damn good!

Am I breaking the law eating this for breakfast?

No avocado left for my sourdough toast! I have tomatoes, mushrooms… I wonder what hemp seeds would be like in this, for a protein boost?

Disclaimer: It’s apparently not allowed to eat hemp seeds in Australia or New Zealand, even though you can buy them at just about any health food store. It IS allowed to be eaten in every other country on Earth, though. I am not sure if you can go to prison for eating it, so beware! 😉

Here’s what I gathered:

1 tbsp coconut oil
5 medium Swiss Brown mushrooms, sliced
A handful of shimeji mushrooms
1 shallot, chopped
2 small tomatoes, chopped
A pinch of Jamaican Jerk seasoning
A quarter cup of hemp seeds

I fried the mushrooms and shallot in the coconut oil until a tiny bit golden.

Then I added the tomatoes and Jerk seasoning. This fried until everything was done to my liking. Your liking might be different, but you can tell just by how it looks.

After the heat was turned off is when I added the hemp seeds, just so they could warm through. And it made a very yummy and nutrient-dense breakfast. And no, it didn’t make me high.
